71,500 spectators applauded Tom Cruise’s safe jump off the roof of the Stade de France at the closing ceremony of the Olympics in Paris.
The movie star took the Olympic flag, hopped on a motorcycle, and exited the stadium quickly after making an impressive descent to the ground to the Mission Impossible soundtrack by Grammy-winning artist H.E.R. During a well-produced action scene, Cruise demonstrated his skills, driving through Paris, boarded an airplane, and skydived into Los Angeles, where he passed the flag to mountain biker Kate Courtney, who will represent the US at the 2028 Olympics.
The passing of the flag from the current host city to the next is a common part of the Olympic tradition. For an Olympic Games held in a Hollywood-themed city, Cruise was the perfect representative. The closing ceremony was a great opportunity for Cruise to display yet another impressive stunt, including one in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Cruise is sixty-two years old and known for performing his own stunts.
A picture of the movie star was shared with the message, “Thank you, Paris! Next stop, Los Angeles.” It was a much more traditional closing ceremony than last month’s outdoor opening ceremony, held in the Olympic stadium. The closing ceremony on Sunday night had good weather and appeared to be an exciting evening of entertainment despite the rain soaking athletes and spectators at the opening event.

There is a possibility that Tom Cruise will return for another movie sequel.
Ten years ago, Edge of Tomorrow made its debut in cinemas. Starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, this sci-fi flick was adapted from the Japanese light novel All You Need Is Kill. Despite high hopes for success, the movie did not generate significant profits for Warner Bros., earning only $370.5 million globally with a budget of $178 million. Nevertheless, it has since developed a devoted fan base and calls for a sequel, Edge of Tomorrow 2, have been growing louder. Fans may finally see their wish come true as Tom Cruise recently inked a long-term contract with Warner Bros.
As a result, Cruise has entered into a fresh agreement with Warner Bros. as he joins forces with studio executives, Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy. Together, they will work on creating and releasing new theatrical films, whether it be original material or an extension of existing franchises. While Cruise’s iconic franchises, Top Gun and Mission: Impossible, remain under Paramount for now, his involvement with Warner Bros. is currently limited to Edge of Tomorrow. Unless he chooses otherwise, it is unlikely that we will see Cruise in any upcoming Harry Potter or DC superhero films from Warner Bros.
