Uglies: In the opening moments of the Uglies trailer, Tally says, “All my life, I wanted to be pretty,” expressed by Joey King.
In a futuristic society, 16-year-olds can undergo a cosmetic procedure to make them pretty. The surgery helps teens express their desired identity to society. Initially excited, Tally changes her mind when her friend disappears. She learns that the organization performing the surgery may have ulterior motives. This prompts Tally to explore outside the city to find The Smoke, a hidden sanctuary for rebels.
“I’ve been fed these untruths my entire life,” Tally states emotionally in the trailer.
In addition to King, the cast of Uglies includes Outer Banks’ Chase Stokes, Keith Powers, Brianne Tju, Jan Luis Castellanos, Charmin Lee, and Laverne Cox.
The film “Uglies” is directed by McG and based on the young adult series by Scott Westerfeld, with a script by Jacob Forman, Vanessa Taylor, and Whit Anderson. Producers on the film include McG, John Davis, Jordan Davis, Robyn Meisinger, and Mary Viola.
King is a prominent movie star for Netflix, having starred in multiple successful projects. King is known for her lead roles in the Kissing Booth trilogy and her co-starring role alongside Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron in A Family Afair. Additionally, King’s journey from reading the book Uglies at the age of 11 led her to aspire to play the character Tally.
King mentioned during an interview with Netflix that his excitement for the story has remained consistent since he was 11 years old. Additionally, King executive produces Uglies with Jamie King, Scott Westerfeld, John Fox, and Jenny Hink.

In the first teaser trailer of A Complete Unknown, Timothée Chalamet portrays Bob Dylan in a musical biopic directed by James Mangold focusing on the early days of the iconic singer-songwriter.
The footage from Searchlight Pictures shows a scene with 19-year-old Dylan (Chalamet) strolling through the streets of 1960s New York City, passing by the famous Chelsea Hotel. Later, Chalamet performs Dylan’s protest song “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.” The trailer ends with Dylan’s significant performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where he transitioned from acoustic to electric rock and roll.
